Heart Screening FAQs

Who is suitable for cardiac screening?

Cardiac screening is generally recommended to those who are over the age of 40, or are at risk of developing heart disease. This may include: having a family history of heart disease, being overweight, being a smoker, having high blood pressure, excessive drinkers or those who have a sedentary lifestyle.

What are the benefits?

If cardiac screening is suggested, it will be in the best interests of your health and well-being. The individual procedures can help to detect an issue when in the early stages, improving the situation or preventing it from progressing.

Will I always see the same practitioner?

At The One Clinic we aim for you to see the same doctor for each appointment where possible.

Will all appointments be at The One Clinic?

When you are given an appointment you will be expected to come to The One Clinic unless we advise otherwise. We may not be able to carry out all treatments at our facility, depending on the process, which is why we work closely with other local professionals.

Will I need to visit the clinic regularly?

For a patient who is at low risk of developing heart disease, or has no known medical concerns, we may only ask that attend cardiac screening every 3 years. If you are thought to be at a higher risk, or are undergoing medical intervention we may need to see you more regularly. This will be suggested depending on your individual circumstances.
