Overview

Everyday life presents many challenges; some that are trivial and require little thought, and others that are more significant and take their toll on a person’s overall well-being.

These issues can be dealt with in different ways by different people, which for some, can mean a strain on their mental health. At The One Clinic we treat a whole variety of health and well-being concerns, and this subject is one of great importance to us.

If anyone is feeling considerably unhappy and / or discontented with their life, it can lead to a range of physical and emotional concerns, including depression and feelings of inadequacy and worthlessness (to name just a few). This is when we would urge patients to come and see our compassionate doctors at The One Clinic, preferably before it becomes a serious issue.

We often allow up to 90 minutes for the first consultation, often finding that follow-up appointments become shorter in length. Our meetings are designed to provide patients with the best support possible to help get them ‘back on track’ and feeling much happier and content. We’ll need to have some details regarding general health, medical and family history, before listening to all of the patients’ concerns – their whole story.

From here we can put together a targeted action plan that may include one or a range of therapies and self-help strategies. Each action plan is bespoke to the individual and we will speak to any other professionals who can be of additional help; making referrals where necessary. A follow-up appointment will be made before the patient leaves the clinic, and we won’t sign the patient off until we’re sure that together, we’ve reached the end goal.

FAQ

Who is suitable for a mental health consultation?

The subject of mental health is very broad and there is no one set of symptoms that determine negative mental health. A person may be able to decide for themself if they are frequently struggling to cope, or a friend or family member may be the one to identify a change in someone’s self-esteem or ability to function normally.

What are the benefits?

By talking to a professional and receiving the most suitable form of therapy, patients can restore their usual personality and find ways to manage difficult situations, and their emotions.

Will I always see the same practitioner?

Our service ensures that patients get to see the same friendly faces when they visit The One Clinic. This helps to build trusting relationships which is of great benefit to on-going treatment plans.

Will all appointments be at The One Clinic?

Where possible, we will treat and consult at The One Clinic. There may be certain situations where a patient needs to be referred to another professional, or if a more comprehensive approach to treatment means it needs to be carried out at another facility.

Will I need to visit the clinic regularly?

The frequency of appointments will depend on your individual circumstances and the type of therapy that you receive. How well you respond to treatment will determine how often you feel the need to see our specialists.
