Wrinkle relaxing injections are a type of non-invasive injectable treatment that helps soften visible fine lines and wrinkles.

They work by temporarily relaxing the muscles to iron out any underlying muscular creases, leaving the surface of the skin appearing smoother. At The One Clinic these injections are administered to the affected area using a series of carefully placed injections.

This treatment is medically approved to treat many medical concerns such as: migraines, teeth grinding and excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), as well as to help reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

This treatment is frequently requested when the effects of ageing in the mid and upper face produce a tired look, targeting: frown lines, forehead lines, smile lines (nasolabial folds) and crow’s feet. This treatment is more effective when treating these wrinkles, rather than dermal fillers, as they are primarily the result of repeated facial movement.

Am I suitable for this treatment?: The ageing process will affect us all, albeit developing differently from person to person. When facial wrinkles are giving the face a tired look, wrinkle-relaxing injections can restore a fresher, more rested look. Your suitability will be decided at your pre-treatment consultation, although we find most people are good candidates.
Is this treatment safe?: This treatment has been extensively researched and developed over the last couple of decades, and has FDA approval for use in a range of treatments, including for facial wrinkles. Our medical team are highly trained, experienced doctors who have performed this treatment many times.
Is this treatment painful?: To help the application of the injections feel more comfortable, we will provide the opportunity for a topical numbing cream to be administered. This is applied 20 – 30 minutes prior to treatment, and will wear off fairly quickly.
What can I expect after treatment?: The results will appear immediately, and will last for approximately 3 – 4months. In the first 24 – 48 hours the treated area may look red and swollen, and could feel slightly tender. We advise that you avoid touching or rubbing the place where injections were applied for a couple of days, and any mild bruising will usually disappear within 3 – 5 days.
How many treatments will I need?: Wrinkle-relaxing injections will usually produce the desired result in one treatment session. As the product will naturally break down, you may want to repeat the procedure every 3 or 4 months to maintain your smooth, wrinkle-free skin.
