Overview

Lumecca by InMode is a laser / IPL treatment used for improving the skin’s clarity.

Clear, flawless skin is desired by many people, however, very few people have a complexion that is evenly toned and free of irregularities. In many cases the skin possesses freckles, and as one gets older, concerns such as: age spots, thread veins, pigmentation and the effects of sun damage can become evident.

These conditions mainly affect the face, neck and decolletage, contributing to the effects of ageing and a characteristically tired look.

IPL is a procedure that delivers powerful beams of light to the skin. It works on visible skin irregularities through a technique known as photo-thermolysis. This means the red and brown pigmented cells will absorb the lightwaves, pulling them closer to the skin’s surface.

As the cell has now been destroyed, it will gradually go darker and flake away from the skin. When the lightwaves are absorbed into the skin it will turn to heat. This can be beneficial for stimulating the production of collagen which can help to create firmer, fuller skin with tighter pores.

Here at The One Clinic we’ll carry out a thorough assessment of the skin before we recommend treatment. Laser / IPL treatment often requires a course of up to 3 treatments, although results can be seen after the first session.

FAQ

Am I suitable for ILP treatment?

A suitable candidate for laser / IPL treatment will have noticeable skin irregularities. This may in the form of: age spots, freckles, hyperpigmentation, sun damage or thread veins. The treatment can be used alongside other skin rejuvenating treatments for a fully refreshed appearance.

Is this treatment safe?

Lumecca by InMode has FDA clearance and is considered to be a safe and effective treatment. The One Clinic’s team of doctors are highly trained medical professionals who have many years experience in performing aesthetic treatments.

Is this treatment painful?

When the device is being passed over the skin you may feel a slight snapping sensation. This will only last as long as the treatment itself and is not usually reported as causing significant discomfort.

What can I expect after the treatment?

After the treatment you can expect the skin to look red, and feel slightly sensitive. This can be eased by applying cool packs to the treated area, and the skin will need to be adequately protected before going outside – using a high SPF of 50 or more.

How many treatment sessions will I need?

To achieve the best results we often recommend a course of between 1 and 3 treatment sessions. This will depend on your individual concerns and the outcome you’re expecting.
